Helping Students Shift Their Thinking
For many students, "college" can have a number of meanings. Students perceive college as a step beyond high school,
a ticket to a future with a solid career, a place to meet new people, and more. Often, students think of college as a single place rather than the thousands
of colleges and universities they could attend as undergraduates. One college may be perfect for one student but completely wrong for another. For example,
if a student hopes to be a architect but he or she attends a college that has no formal architecture major or training program, the student may feel frustrated and isolated.
If that student does stay to complete a degree, he or she may graduate feeling unprepared for a career.
The Center for Future Thinking strives to help students articulate their goals and identify colleges and universities that
will best enable them to reach the future they desire. We believe in all students' ability to succeed when they choose a learning
environment that is right for them.
